How Versatility Can Help You Stand Out

Versatility in HVAC

Builders committed to high-performance construction, including net-zero and passive house homes, need HVAC solutions for a wide range of residential building projects, from luxury mansions to tiny homes and everything in between. The builder may have different performance goals for each project, whether creating fewer larger zones for moderate performance boost, or dividing the home into smaller zones for the highest performance, all-electric heat pumps like our line of Zoned Comfort Solutions® include options for any climate or application.

Flexible, Adaptable Equipment

In January, thousands of attendees at the 2020 National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Las Vegas saw our product versatility first-hand. If you attended IBS, you likely saw (or felt) our systems at work in several model homes.

The 2020 IBS Show Village featured innovative housing options ranging in style from 204-square-foot tiny homes on wheels to modular houses. All were fully furnished, functional and ready to give the attendees an up-close and personal look at the materials and products in application. Zoned Comfort Solutions conditioned the Show Village’s mid-century home, tiny home, two-dwelling home and net-zero home.

The 1,650-square-foot mid-century modern home used an SVZ Multi-Position Ducted Air Handler paired with an SUZ Universal Outdoor Unit. The SUZ was also part of the mechanical system design for The New American Home (TNAH), which was open for IBS attendees to tour in addition to the Show Village homes.

At 6,428 square feet, TNAH 2020 was much larger than the mid-century home
and featured a hybrid application of ducted and ductless units. Joining the versatile SVZ were a variety of wall-mounted, ceiling-recessed and horizontal-ducted indoor units to evenly and efficiently heat and cool multiple zones.

Case in Point

The two applications are vastly different, yet both enjoy efficiency and performance benefits from the equipment. With the ability to perform just as well within a 200-square-foot tiny home as in a 3,000-square-foot home, these versatile, all-electric heat pump systems are a go-to choice for high-performance builders, contractors and residential architects.
