Maran International Award on behalf of
Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating.

At Gwinnett Chamber’s 66th Annual Dinner on February 7, we were named as the second recipient ever of the James J. Maran International Award. The award, created in honor of Jim Maran, recognizes an international business that not only has chosen to call the Gwinnett County home, but has enhanced the quality of life and made it a better place to live.

More than 1,000 county leaders – including Governor Nathan Deal and Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle – attended the premier event and toasted to the collaborative work of the community, the accomplishments of 2013 and the promising outlook of 2014. “You are part of what is making Georgia grow,” Deal said in his speech about the successes that are bringing jobs to the local economy.

In August 2013, CNN Money ranked Gwinnett County ninth in its national list of “Where the Jobs Are.” In the 20 years we’ve been here, we’ve outgrown four offices, have seen double-digit growth and now plan to bring more than 100 local employees on board. Needless to say, we were flattered when Gwinnett Chamber President Dan Kaufman added that, “Through the efforts of these esteemed leaders being honored, the Gwinnett Chamber and the thriving community it serves will continue to thrive and prosper.”
