Greenbuild 2016

greenbuild2016

At Mitsubishi Electric, we take pride in creating sustainable cooling and heating technology. Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to share our newest innovations at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Greenbuild is the largest conference and expo dedicated to green building and sustainable design. It attracts industry leaders and experts from all over the globe. In addition to a diverse crowd, Greenbuild is known for its attractions. This year included a film festival, yoga session and Women in Green Power Breakfast. The buzz was so contagious that #Greenbuild16 became a trending topic on Twitter.

Although this year’s Greenbuild has come and gone, its impact will continue in Los Angeles with the Legacy Project. For this year’s Legacy Project, the U.S. Green Building Council-Los Angeles Chapter helped launch an Eco-Tech Maker Space for the Los Angeles Unified School District. This project offers “S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) curricula, hands-on learning and environmental stewardship emanating from the reuse of discarded, safe manufacturing materials.”

From beginning to end, Greenbuild always brings the energy that inspires us to engage and create technologies for this industry. We look forward to participating in next year’s conference in Boston.

Building in Paradise: SEBC 2016 Highlights

Sept6 Image

Last month, we gathered with construction industry professionals as an exhibitor at the 2016 Southeast Building Conference (SEBC). The two-day event, set at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida, attracted builders, developers, architects and contractors, as well as regional and international distributors.

This year’s sold-out show saw a 20 percent increase in residential and commercial construction exhibitors from 2015. The 60+ hours of professional development available covered topics from design trends and innovative building technology to marketing developments. Representatives from Consumer Reports, the Wall Street Journal and Houzz formed the impressive lineup of keynote speakers.

In addition to all of the educational and networking opportunities, the Beach Bash definitely helped SEBC live up to its mission, “building in paradise.” As the largest (and fastest growing) building industry tradeshow in the southeast United States, we can’t wait to see what is in store for #SEBCville 2017.

What Happens in Vegas . . . ?

Show Village 1

This week, more than 75,000 building enthusiasts traveled to Las Vegas for Design & Construction Week, including world’s largest residential and light construction event: 2016 International Builders’ Show (IBS).  When attendees weren’t touring the thousands of exhibitor booths, they participated in educational sessions hosted by renowned building professionals from around the world.

Outside the showroom, attendees had a chance to see our products in The Modern Home – an exhibition home built for the show by Palm Harbor Homes. The home models sustainable technologies in a modern setting, including our compact PMFY one-way ceiling-recessed cassette indoor unit.

On Tuesday night, we joined our partner Operation FINALLY HOME (OFH), builders and other sponsors at The House of Blues for a promotional concert starring country music singer, Kix Brooks. OFH – a non-profit organization focused on building mortgage-free homes for veterans – hosts this annual event to raise awareness for the organization. We felt lucky to be in the company of such a generous organization during such an exciting event.

This week, thousands of building industry professionals and enthusiasts are gathering in Washington, D.C. for Greenbuild 2015, the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building. Attendees will learn about the latest products and technologies that make energy-conscious, sustainable living possible.

nov17This year, the show’s Greenbuild Unity Home will allow attendees to experience that sustainable way of life. The 1,620-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom masterpiece is the result of a collaboration between the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, Hanley Wood Media and Unity Homes. The Greenbuild Unity Home demonstrates how you can “maximize a home’s performance while enhancing the comfort, health and security of those who live there” – and, most importantly, do so affordably. As part of that effort, the team selected our Hyper-Heating INVERTER™ (H2i®) M-Series multi-zone system to deliver efficient, whole-home cooling and heating.

Our “Life-Changing” Product at the Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show

2 images

Our H2i® systems have made a splash in the Steel City! Author and former editor of Builder magazine, Boyce Thompson, dubbed the systems as one of “14 Life-Changing Home Products” at the recent Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show.

Our distributor and exhibitor at the Show, Comfort Supply, Inc., provided extra support as Boyce’s presentation sent tradeshow attendees directly to their booth to learn more about the technology and how it “changes the way you interact with the space around you.”

Pittsburgh Magazine and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette took Boyce’s cue, sharing the list of top products with its readers. Watch the video below to hear what the folks on CBS Pittsburgh’s morning show had to say about the products.

We are looking forward to Boyce’s “Top 14 Life-Changing Products” tour to continue this fall. We’ll keep you updated on his tour schedule to see if he’s making a stop near you.
