ACH&R News Explores Ductless Trends in Annual Ductless Issue

May 13_Image 2Check out the “Ductless Advancements Spur Interest” article in ACH&R News’ annual “Ductless A/C Systems” issue, dated April 28, 2014. The article includes commentary from our Vice President, Marketing & Engineered Solutions, Mark Kuntz.

It’s no secret that ductless zoning technology is gaining ground in the U.S. Contractors who don’t already offer a ductless zoning solution are likely to add one in the next few years. Here are some of the other trends we found noteworthy.

Trend 1: Application advancements. Single-zone spaces like add-ons and sunrooms are the most popular ductless applications but installing ductless systems as the primary cooling and heating source is on the upswing.

Mark adds that improvements in low ambient heattechnology make ductless zoning systems a viable solution for residences across the country. For instance, ductless zoning systems with hyper-heating capabilities, like our H2i MSZ-FH Models, function in colder climates where heat pumps were not previously considered the best option.

May 13_Image 1Trend 2: More control options. Mark also points out that end users increasingly want to interact with their HVAC systems through mobile devices and whole-home automation systems. Manufacturers will adapt to allow consumers more control options.

April 29_Green Builder 2014 Readers' Choice Survey Image
We’re proud to announce that this year’s Readers’ Choice Survey from Green Builder magazine featured us on its list of the greenest HVAC products on the market today. Green Builder is a monthly residential building publication focused exclusively on green building and responsible growth. The survey gauges readers’ perceptions of green manufacturers’ products and touches on all building categories from roofing, siding and decking to HVAC, lighting and insulation.

We’re ranked fourth among all manufacturers for the greenest heating, ventilation and air-conditioning products. The survey recognizes the entire HVAC category for having the “Most Green Options Available.” Additionally, survey respondents believe that HVAC products are most influenced by sustainability considerations.

We’re pleased to be recognized by the Readers’ Choice Survey as a leader in the green building industry and that builders are considering HVAC as a major component in energy-efficient building. We have a longstanding companywide commitment to reducing environmental impacts and supporting sustainable building. As the marketplace becomes more crowded with green products, this achievement holds even more weight.

Meet the H2i R2-Series – A New Leader in the Field

Introduced last month at the 2014 AHR Expo, the H2i R2-Series is the latest addition to our Hyper-Heating INVERTER (H2i®) family of products and a groundbreaking force within the industry.

No other manufacturer has achieved the same level of heating capacity at low ambient conditions as the H2i R2-Series. In addition to heating at 100 percent at zero degrees Fahrenheit, the system can operate at an impressive 85 percent heating capacity down to minus 13 degrees Fahrenheit, giving the H2i R2-Series the highest heating capacity at the lowest temperature in the field. So, for projects in climates such as the Midwest and New England where winter temperatures dip as low as 10 degrees, there’s no need to think twice about the HVAC solution – the H2i R2-Series is the way to go.
