January 22_2015 AHR Expo ImageWe’re wrapping up the 2015 International Builders’ Show today and heading to Chicago for the 2015 AHR Expo, the largest event in the HVAC/R industry.

The annual event has already set three new all-time attendance records – and the doors haven’t even opened yet! From January 26-28, more than 2,100 exhibitors (an 8 percent increase from last year) and over 60,000 building professionals are expected to participate in three days of networking, educational programs and exposure to the latest trends in the industry.

We’ll be at booth #5267 on the show floor showcasing our latest ductless and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) zoning technology. On the residential side, we’ll have our Hyper-Heating INVERTER™ (H2i®) MZS-FH and H2i MXZ systems, both of which feature industry-first capabilities. The H2i MXZ will sit center stage as the winner of the AHR Expo’s 2015 Innovation Award in the Heating category.

On the commercial side, we’ll feature our brand new Diamond Controls system – a customizable building management solution with bundled controls, devices and sensors – as well as the upcoming air- and water-source Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems.

Don’t miss Jet Towel, demonstrating our widespread building ingenuity. Jet Towel is a quiet, safe and energy-efficient hand dryer with an innovative drain tank that costs only $25 per year to operate.

Over 100 educational seminars, workshops and presentations will educate you on the future of the HVAC/R industry. Swing by our booth (#5267) to experience it!

Project Profile: Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center

The Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center (Renaissance Schaumburg), located in the metro Chicago city of Schaumburg, hosts up to 6,400 attendees each event. The facility restrooms are always in demand, creating an abundance of landfill waste.

Renaissance Schaumburg explored alternatives to using paper towels in the high-traffic spaces. Robert Lang, the facility’s director of engineering, said, “We ultimately decided to invest in Mitsubishi Electric Jet Towels for two reasons: quieter operation than competing hand dryers and the ability to contain water rather than spilling it onto the floors and walls. We wanted a drain tank that would keep the restrooms safe and dry for our guests.”

The Jet Towel is the only hand dryer to meet National Sanitation Foundation Standard 169, and its clean operation comes at no reduction in effectiveness or comfort; it dries hands in 10 seconds at a decibel rating equivalent to elevator music. Best of all, Renaissance Schaumburg reported saving $6,000 per year by using our energy-efficient hand dryers.

Hands Down: New Mitsubishi Electric Jet Towel Blows Away the Hand Dryer Competition

August 19_Jet Towel ImageSo long to paper towels and goodbye to weak automatic hand dryers. The future of public restroom facilities is all about the high-speed, high-performance hand dryer.

We recently unveiled our latest model in this product category – the Jet Towel new slim model.

The Jet Towel is among the quietest and most energy-efficient high-speed hand dryers on the market. In head-to-head comparisons that we conducted against competing high-speed hand dryers, the Jet Towel rates as one of the quietest dryers, at 61 dB.

It’s also one of the most energy-efficient, needing
only 1,250 watts to dry hands in 10 seconds. Based on average electricity rates, the Jet Towel costs only $25 per year to operate! How does that compare to paper towels? It amounts to a 98 percent cost savings, with 85 percent less impact on the environment.

What is most unique about this model of the Jet Towel is its trademark drain tank, designed to collect the water from your hands. Competing dryers leak the excess water onto the walls and floors, creating a restroom ripe for water hazards and bacterial growth. With its drain tank, the Jet Towel assures a clean, safe and dry environment.

All of these features make installing a Jet Towel a smart decision for facilities. National retail brands like Nordstrom and Mars Petcare, as well as international airports in Denver, Minneapolis-Saint Paul and San Diego, are already reaping the benefits. Who’s next?
