Diamond Leadership Conference 2017

Late last month, we held our 2017 Diamond Leadership Conference in Tucson, Arizona. Our theme for this year’s conference focused on three key words: vision, dedication and success. On our first day, we shared this video with the attendees, highlighting the first word of our theme: vision. Here at Mitsubishi Electric, we strive every day to become a leader in the HVAC industry, and through our efforts to do so we’ve had the opportunity to build long-lasting relationships with our distributors and rep firms. Without them, we couldn’t achieve our vision, and most importantly, we wouldn’t be able to provide our customers with comfort.

Honored Again

Our partner, Gustave A. Larson Company (Larson), annually recognizes manufacturers and suppliers with their Partners in Excellence and Quality awards. This year, 50 suppliers were scored against 14 different criteria, and scores were totaled to determine the top suppliers. Once again, we have been named a top supplier.

We were most highly rated for our “handling of rush orders” – a perfect score – as well as “merchandise quality” and a number of shipping, ordering and support categories – each of which scored at least 4.5 or higher on a five-point scale.

Our own Mark Kuntz, senior vice president, was on hand at the Wisconsin City Club to represent us in receiving the honor. Jennifer Corey received an accolade, as well, being named the top supplier sales person for 2015 in the company’s Mountain Region. We thank Gustave A. Larson Company for continuing to value our partnership and we are proud to offer excellent service year in and year out.

Last month, we held our 2016 Diamond Partners Conference at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico. More than 350 distributors, employees and guests gathered to celebrate success and establish strategies for the upcoming year.

This year’s Diamond Partner of the Year Award was presented to A/C Warehouse Inc., Honolulu, Hawaii. A/C Warehouse Inc. outperformed all other partners nationwide and was also recognized as the top partner in our West Business Unit.

Follow our blog in the coming weeks as we continue to highlight A/C Warehouse Inc. and the other Diamond Partners recognized in Mexico. We hope to see your name on the list next year!

Highlights From the 2016 Diamond Partners Conference

We are holding our 2016 Diamond Partners Conference at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico during the weekend of March 19 – 22. More than 350 distributors, employees and guests are gathering in preparation of our new fiscal year.

Participants over the weekend have had the opportunity to hear a number of guest speakers and presenters, including former Navy Commander Mike Abrashoff and Metrostudy’s senior director of insights, Toby Morrison. These presentations have run the gamut from new technology applications to product development and marketing strategies, with an eye toward developing trends in 2016.

We have also presented a number of awards to our partners from each of our business units, including the Diamond Partners with Crowning Achievement and Design Excellence awards. Be sure to keep reading as we profile each of these award recipients on our blog over the coming months.

Mitsubishi Electric and MLB Team Up!

June 11_MLB Ad Program ImageWe’ve teamed up with Major League Baseball (MLB) in 11 cities for our latest marketing campaign and are sharing our cooling message with sports fans this summer.

Our newest TV commercial, “Cat Tricks,” airs during select MLB games throughout June on local Fox Sports channels. The commercial encourages viewers to go to mitsubishibaseball.com to learn about the benefits of our systems and how to buy them. The website conveniently generates a list of Mitsubishi Electric contractors in the area so all the homeowner needs to do is pick up the phone and call. Participating contractors are forwarded leads from interested consumers who visit the website and, what’s more – a shoutout to a lucky contractor appears in the commercial itself!

Keep a lookout for “Cat Tricks” if you’re a fan of one of the 11 MLB teams participating in this summer’s campaign or if your team has a match up with one of them this month.

Toasting to Success at the 2014 Distributor Conference



We’ve wrapped up this year’s Distributor Conference, where more than 300 of our distributors, manufacturer’s representatives, employees and spouses joined us in Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii, as we saluted to the success of 2013 and the promising outlook for 2014.

Held this year from March 7-10 at the Ritz-Carlton, the annual event was packed with important updates from the division’s representatives, who brought attendees up to speed on exciting, new companywide initiatives. The highlights of the three-day event, however, were the inspirational and electrifying stories told by our guest speakers. Steve Chealander, a former Lieutenant Colonel in U.S. Air Force and Military Aide to President Ronald Reagan, delivered the keynote speech to kickoff the event and a speech from Salvatore Augustine Giuna, a former U.S. Army soldier and the first living person to receive the eminent Medal of Honor since the Vietnam War, concluded the conference.

We look forward to this event every year, not just for the stunning views and beautiful weather, but because it’s our opportunity to honor the hard work of our esteemed network of distributors – the movers of our products – who, without them, we wouldn’t be the industry leaders that we are.

Author Weldon Long Hosts In-Home Selling Seminar in Boston

As part of a robust new initiative to support the development of our contractors’ businesses, we’re partnering with New York Times best-selling author and HVAC sales expert Weldon Long to bring an exciting educational opportunity to our Diamond Contractors.

The In-Home Selling Seminar Program kicked off this week with its first two-day event in Boston. Long led the seminar, which aimed to accomplish the following:

  • Create the proper mindset necessary to excel in Mitsubishi Electric ductless sales and business.
  • Investigate homeowners’ comfort and efficiency problems and gain their permission to recommend Mitsubishi Electric ductless home comfort solutions.

Long is the perfect spokesperson for this seminar because he is unique familiarity with the HVAC sales process. In 2003, he walked out of prison and built a residential HVAC company worth $0 to $20,000,000 in just 60 months. In 2009, his company was selected by Inc. Magazine as one of “America’s Fastest Growing Small Businesses.” Weldon is here to share the secrets to his success.

Mitsubishi Electric Salutes International Distributors

Last week, we hosted a four-day conference at the Marriott Biscayne Bay Hotel in Miami to honor the hard work and success of our international distributors. The event, held October 28-31, saw 96 in attendance, including Mitsubishi Electric personnel and representatives from 28 of our 32 international distributors.

Director of the International BU Rey Benzor greeted everyone at the welcome reception on Monday to kick off the conference. It was followed by three days of engaging and informative presentations on everything from marketing and government relations to updates on EnergyPro modeling and the Diamond Dealer and Container programs.  Capping off the conference, an award reception was held to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of our international distributors. Those honored were:

  • Pro-Tec, Aruba – Distributor of the Year
  • Integ, Peru – Superior Sales
  • MPG & Asociados, Dominican Republic, and Pro-Tec, Aruba – Quota Buster
  • Seing, Ecuador – Innovation

Seing also received an award honoring its 25 years in business.

We owe our global presence and success to our international distributors, and value the solid relationships and bonds we have built with them. This conference simply gives us the opportunity to tip our hats to these distributors, and thank them for their continued dedication and support. Congratulations to you all!
