November 5We’re proud to be a sponsor of the 2014 Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance (SEEA) Conference, hosted this year in partnership with the Association of Energy Service Professionals Southeast chapter and the Cadmus Group. The third annual event starts today in Atlanta at the Georgia Tech Research Institute. Keep an Eye Out for Our Newest Ad!

MS-4690_C_C_H_THENEWS_Single_MECH_OUT.indd
We recently rolled out a nine-month-long print trade ad campaign highlighting installations that feature our industry-leading Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) zoning technology. The ads highlight VRF zoning’s unique solutions for solving difficult design challenges in urban areas throughout the country. Our newest print ad features Chandler City Hall, Chandler, Arizona, a five-building, 137,000-square-foot civic center that needed the perfect HVAC system to provide critical cooling for the building’s server rooms and data closets. The center became one of only 24 city halls in the U.S. to receive LEED® Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council after the installation of our VRF zoning systems.

Look for the ads in upcoming issues of ARCHITECT magazine. Click here to learn more about Chandler City Hall.

Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualālai Kick-Off

Champions Tour - Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai - Preview Day 3 Our Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualālai in Ka’upulehu-Kona, Hawaii, kicks off today, as a part of our longtime sponsorship of the Professional Golf Association (PGA). The golf tournament, which belongs to the PGA Champions TOUR, has drawn the attention of notable golfers such as Mike Reid, Roger Chapman, Joe Daley, Fred Couples, Corey Pavin and many more.

Since our championship at Hualālai began in 1997, the tournament has made a significant impact on Hawaii’s Big Island community, and we hope to continue that tradition today. Over the years, we’re proud to say that nearly $650,000 has been donated to various island charities, including the Rotary Club of Kona, Kealakehe High School and Big Island Junior Golf programs.

As an added incentive to tune in to the Golf Channel, our two new TV commercials will premier for the first time this week alongside the golf tournament. You just might even recognize the faces of these ads – Couples and Pavin – who we’ve taken out of their comfort zone.

Check your local listings for the Golf Channel to catch our new commercials and to see how the showdown on the greens unfolds. To view the commercials on YouTube, click here for Couples’ ad and here for Pavin’s.

We’re Kicking Off Our Diamond Contractor™ Conference!

diamond_contractor Logo

Today we’re excited to begin the first of two Diamond Contractor™ Conferences held just down the road from our Suwannee, Ga., offices at the Sonesta Gwinnett Place- Atlanta. Even though it’s the middle of a hot summer (and contractors’ busiest season), the event is completely sold out. The goal of the two-day conference is to equip our Diamond Contractors with tools to grow their businesses through increased sales of our ductless systems.

The conference will feature presentations, product and program announcements, motivational speakers, breakout sessions and networking opportunities for our Diamond Contractors. The next session, scheduled for October 7-9, is sold out, too. Can’t make it to either of the conferences? Check back here for updates throughout the event.

Are you interested in becoming a Diamond Contractor™? Contact your local distributor to find out how.

We Are Where CNN Money Says the Jobs Are

August 29_CNN Money Magazine Ranking ImageIn April, we celebrated the grand opening of our new 550,000-square-foot headquarters in Suwanee, Ga., our fifth facility in Gwinnett County since we first broke ground in 1992. This month, CNN Money magazine ranked the county ninth on its national list of “Where the Jobs Are.” We couldn’t agree more.

The Top 25 counties on the list were determined by data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Only counties experiencing job and population growth, and unemployment below the national average, were considered. The magazine also used data from real estate research provider Onboard Informatics to develop a list of “Best Place” cities in each of the Top 25 counties. We’re proud to add that Suwanee, Ga., made the cut as one of the three Best Place cities for Gwinnett County and was recognized as one of America’s Best Small Towns in the magazine’s list of “Best Places to Live.”

In the 20 years we’ve called Gwinnett County home, we’ve outgrown four offices and have experienced double-digit growth in the past five years alone. And as a testament to our continuing expansion, we plan to add more than 100 engineers, warehouse workers and others locally to our approximately 300 U.S.-wide employee base over the next three years. It’s fair to say that we are part of the reason Gwinnett County is one of the most promising counties for job growth in the nation. We thank the people at CNN Money for recognizing the county for what we see it as — a wonderful place to live and work.

Continued Growth in the Industry Requires Growth Within the Company

June 13_New BU Directors Image

To accommodate the increasing demand for our products, we recently transformed our U.S. sales organization. We created two new positions in our national sales structure — director of sales operations and director of each of our six Business Units (BUs) — and promoted seven employees to fill them.

J.R. de la Cruz is our first-ever director of sales operations, having most recently held the title of senior manager of sales operations. He oversees all sales activities and plays a vital role in managing sales operations, including strategy, process, reporting, analysis and training.

We’ve promoted Bob Farmer, Dan Keck, Doug King, John Matson, Doug Romeo and Rey Benzor from managers to directors of the Southwest, Central, South, Northeast and International BUs, respectively. These Business Unit directors each oversee the sales operations of their respective BUs. To give them a hand, we’ve also created separate residential and commercial managerial positions for each unit.

We’re confident that these newly appointed directors will not only greatly improve the efficiency of our sales structure, but will also support our growth objectives and help position the Division for future success. Congratulations to these seven on their new positions!
